What age is Earth?
4.543 billion years
How do clouds help us?
Clouds play an important role in both warming and cooling our planet. Clouds give us a cooler climate on Earth than we would enjoy without clouds. But it’s a bit complicated: Clouds can both cool down and warm up the temperatures on Earth. Clouds can block light and heat from the Sun, making Earth’s temperature cooler.
Can clouds combine?
In warm clouds, larger cloud droplets fall at a higher terminal velocity; because at a given velocity, the drag force per unit of droplet weight on smaller droplets is larger than on large droplets. The large droplets can then collide with small droplets and combine to form even larger drops.
Do clouds stay still?
When the wind is absent or feeble, clouds may remain at a place and cause rain there if the clouds are rain bearing. The clouds move with the atmosphere, which moves with the earth, just like a helium balloon will move with you in a car rather than move rearward when you are moving forward.
What would happen if clouds fell?
Clouds are nothing more than condensed water vapor which can also vary from place to place. It would either be very foggy or very wet if they fell all at once emptied our atmosphere of all water vapor. The results would vary on the terrain and it’s ability to handle high levels of rainfall.
What keeps clouds from falling?
The water rises, cools, and condenses. A cloud is formed! Clouds form when warm wet air rises and condenses in cold air. The second reason that clouds can float in the air is that there is a constant flow of warm air rising to meet the cloud: the warm air pushes up on the cloud and keeps it afloat.
What would you do if you were a cloud?
If I were a cloud. I would be one of the benevolent kinds. I mean I wouldn’t discriminate between places. I would rain equally on all places irrespective of the terrain.
Is Thunder two clouds crashing together?
Lightning causes the sound of thunder. When lightning gets in warm air. God gets really mad, and you can hear it. When two rain clouds mash together.
What will happen if the Earth stops rotating?
If the Earth were to stop spinning on its axis, gradually the oceans would migrate towards the poles from the equator. You could travel around the Earth on the equator and stay entirely on dry land—ignoring the freezing cold on the night side, and the searing heat on the day side.
Where do clouds go at night?
The heat energy is radiated away in the infrared to the night sky, and the air in contact with the ground cools off by this contact and flows downhill like water. That is why the clouds sometimes disappear at night. In the daytime, however, the ground is warmed by the Sun and heats the air in contact with it.
What will happen to Earth?
The evaporation of water into the space surrounding Earth will mark the final gasp of any life on the planet. This will occur about 2.5 billion years from now, but the oceans themselves could be mostly gone by 1 billion years into the future — a mere blink of the eye in cosmic terms.
Can clouds fall on earth?
They never fall but they pour. Seems to be quite an idiotic question, but it’s actually not. For example, let’s take a look at the clouds themselves. Clouds are made of droplets of water or frozen crystals, which are heavier than the air around them — so why don’t they fall? That something else is wind.
What do you know about clouds?
A cloud is made up of liquid water droplets. A cloud forms when air is heated by the sun. As it rises, it slowly cools it reaches the saturation point and water condenses, forming a cloud. As long as the cloud and the air that its made of is warmer than the outside air around it, it floats!
